Come to the beautiful city of Treasure Island to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of Ikebana Chapter #65, and the 10th Anniversary of this lush exhibition on March 11 and 12 at the Treasure Island Community Center.
Ikebana arrangements will be on display at selected locations throughout the City leading up to the event, and Mayor Bob Minning will proclaim the week of March 5 through 12 Ikebana Week in the City of Treasure Island at the City Commission meeting on February 21.
Opening Day of the Exhibition will feature a dazzling array of floral arrangements, and a performance by Ron Collins, the Taiko Drummer. The Hana Shop will sell arrangements by chapter members.
During the Exhibition there will be a Ginza, demonstrations by sensei from five different Ikebana schools, and classes on Japanese culture.
Two weeks prior to the opening, Ikebana arrangements will be available at the Friday Morning Market at Treasure Island Community Center Park.
Friday evening, March 10, is the Preview Party and tickets are required to attend this event.
