Madeira Beach, FL –The City of Madeira Beach City announces that its offer of employment was accepted by Jonathan Evans MPA, MBA, ICMA-CM, to fill the position of City Manager. The commission voted to extend the job offer to Evans in a special meeting held Wednesday, January 31.
“We are delighted to bring Mr. Evans to our City,” said Mayor Maggi Black. “We believe his experience will be a tremendous benefit to our community and we cannot wait to start working with him. I’m excited to start moving forward under his leadership.”
Evans most recently served as the City Manager in Riviera Beach and has experience in Pinellas County as the Assistant City Manager and Public Information Officer for the City of Largo. A public meet-and-greet will be held on Monday, February 12, in the Commission Chambers at City Hall (300 Municipal Drive, Madeira Beach). Evans will also be in attendance the following evening for the scheduled regular Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, February 13, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Evans intends on beginning his duties with the City no later than February 26th.
“I am excited to meet our community stakeholders, staff, and entrepreneurs to understand their ideologies and perspectives on this great city,” said Evans.
The incoming City Manager has issued a 100-day plan which outlines his commitment to communication, organization, and hard work. This plan is now available to the public at madeirabeachfl.gov/office-of-the-city-manager/. Evans intends on moving toward these successes through genuine, open, and honest relationships.
