Hubbard’s Marina, operator of the Tampa Bay Ferry and Madeira Beach Water Taxi, announces suspension of the Water Taxi on September 30, 2018.
Funding for the Water Taxi through the City of Madeira Beach was not renewed for FY 2018/2019.
The suspension of the Madeira Beach Water Taxi does not affect Hubbard’s Marina’s popular ferry routes to Egmont Key and Shell Key.
In an email dated August 7, Corey Hubbard wrote,
“However … (until September 30) the ferry lives on! We will continue to actively promote to get as many folks on the water as possible before we close at the end of the summer. Many of you have BOGO coupons, use them before it is too late!”
Scheduling
The Madeira Beach Water Taxi route begins at 9:30 a.m. at ABC Marina on Madeira Beach, and proceeds to R.O.C. Park, the Madeira Beach Shopping Center, Jungle Prada, Treasure Island, and John’s Pass, returning to ABC Marina. Departures are scheduled every two hours, with the last trip departing ABC Marina at 7:30 p.m.
Rates start at $10 for a single trip between stops, or $19.50 for a day pass that allows passengers to disembark at any or all stops and return to the water taxi later in the day. Adults over age 65 pay $18 for the day pass, while children younger than 12 ride for $9.75. A two-day pass is $35, and a weekend pass is $49. The Madeira Beach Water Taxi operates Friday through Sunday.
Beverages and snacks are available on board, but passengers may opt to bring their own beverages and snacks to enjoy along the route.
