The Chamber’s Monte Carlo fundraiser is cracking up to be the social event of the year.
More than 150 revelers came decked out in evening dress, and a couple dozen of them honored the 1940s styles of “Casablanca,” to make the 6th Annual Monte Carlo Casino Night a resounding success.
Heavy hors d’oeuvres and light-hearted laughter combined with the excited “Woot! Woot!” of winners at roulette, blackjack, slots, and poker, while one-man band Farley Compton and Vegas style showgirls entertained at The Club at Treasure Island.
A signature event of the Treasure Island & Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce, Monte Carlo Night proved once again that it’s a not-to-be-missed party. Local dignitaries, business owners, and residents rubbed elbows, raised toasts, and raked in the chips to bid on game prizes that will keep the magic going for months to come. Big-ticket items in the Silent Auction drew plenty of attention, and bidding was vigorous.
“Monte Carlo Casino Night has grown into one of the most popular events the Chamber sponsors every year,” said Chamber Board chairman Joe Dise following the August 4 event. “People have started putting it on their social calendars a year in advance, and our Best Dressed contest helps them get into the casino spirit. It was a great time this year, and we expect next year’s event to be even bigger!”
Chamber staffer Debbie Fisher noted, “The staff at The Club were key to our success! Yvonne, Brad, and Bobby all went above and beyond to help create a very special night.”
“The event takes months of planning,” reported Chamber president Missy H. Hahn. “Our Event Coordinator Jill Foraker did a fabulous job recruiting media and table sponsors, and coordinating the game prizes donated by businesses not only in our beach communities, but from throughout the region.”
“We couldn’t produce such a fun event without the support of our sponsors,” confirmed Foraker. “They made it possible to ensure a magical night for everyone who turned out.”
