Spring has definitely sprung! The beaches are full of families soaking up the sun. Every year Madeira Beach celebrates the start of Spring with a fun, family oriented spring break carnival. The dates this are over St. Patrick’s Day weekend, March 14-17th, 2019.
Here are some great tips for a carnival weekend:
Plan to spend the day. Pack up the kids, put on your bathing suits and grab your sunscreen. Stop in at Archibald Beach Park first and enjoy our beautiful beach. Then head over to the spring break carnival and finish the fun with some awesome rides and games. Oh, remember to wear comfortable shoes. You will need them to ride the rides.
Park smart. Parking on our small beach town is always a bit of challenge. If you get here early, find a spot at the CVS. They have about 20-30 spaces that are an hourly charge, but great location. Park here and cross the street to the beach if you head west, go east and you’re a short walk to the carnival. Another secret spot, not many spots are available, is behind the Mad Beach Dive Bar. The FREE parking lots are great about a 5 minute walk. The construction on Madeira Way isn’t as bad as it looks. It will route you across the street because the one sidewalk is closed. Lastly, Winn Dixie and City Hall lots are super close to the Spring Break Carnival. They are charging $10 to park there. The best part, to look at the sunny side, the money they collect is for the Gulf Beaches Rotary. So, it is a charitable donation. (Parking Map & Event Info – Click here)
Bring cash. The Spring Break Carnival is a cash only event. There is an ATM on site next to the first ticket booth. There is a small beer booth next to the stage, Jets Pizza is onsite and of course all the carny food you can stand. Bring a few extra bucks and get your face painted and play some good old fashioned carnival games.
Enjoy Spring Break Carnival rides. This year there are rides for every age group. There are kiddy rides, spinning rides, small coasters and of course the infamous ferris wheel. The ferris wheel is awesome day or night. It’s a great way to see the entire beach and watch boat traffic go by in the intracoastal waterway. They do offer ride wristbands for $20, it allows you unlimited rides all day.
Spring Break Carnival in Madeira is full of outdoor fun. There is live music on the main stage all weekend. Enjoy our beaches, sun and of course ride all the rides you can. It’s only here til Sunday night.
