This spring both Madeira Beach and Treasure Island have a race on their hands.  This year’s spring election has both towns voting on multiple seats and tensions are heated.  The election date is March 13th and polls open at 7am. You can request a mail-in ballot if you haven’t already received one. (click here)

Madeira Beach has two seats up for grabs.  District 1 has incumbent Terry Lister and Deby Weinstein, District 2 has incumbent Nancy Hodges and Eric Breslin.  The race is on.  Madeira Beach will host its candidates’ forum on Wednesday, February 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the Commission Chambers, 300 Municipal Drive.

Treasure Island has three seats in contention. The Mayoral race has two  candidates vying to fill the seat of retiring Mayor Bob Minning, Melinda “Mel” Lenehan, and Larry Lunn, who currently is the Commissioner for District 2.   Jim Buchyn and Tyler Payne are running to fill Lunn’s vacancy in District 2, Heidi Horak is challenging incumbent Ken Keys in District 4.
