Speaking of websites, please take a moment to check your chamber listing, at www.islandneighborschamber.org. Your listing and the Chamber website is only as good as the accuracy of all our members information. Would you check we have correctly listed you address, phone number, website and email? Take the opportunity to include a brief description of your products/services – up to 30 words. In this fast pace age we are constantly revising our business model and forget to update all your contacts. It happens, we know you’re busy; here at the chamber our desire is to keep you that way. We can only do this with correct and compelling information.
Another way we support your business is by brochure distribution, are your brochures at the chamber office? Our visitors stop in for recommendations of places to stay, eat and play, along with other information. Are you taking advantage of this chamber benefit? I invite you to stop by, say hi, introduce yourself to our staff and volunteers and drop off a supply of your literature for our rack stands.
WE NEED YOU!! Calling for volunteers: know someone that is looking for something to do? We are in search of 2 kinds of volunteers. First, individuals who are friendly go-getters and know their way around our local islands. They will meet and greet our visitors recommending our chamber members and help with office administration. The other type of volunteer is special event oriented, good organizers/project minded, likes working with others and computer savvy.
You may remember my tag line of my previous chamber life, “People do business with people they know” it still applies, that being said do we know you? Stop by say hi, if you can’t come by, call us; we are working on a President Coffee time, so we can meet all our members, more of this new benefit next Wednesday.
